London Funds to Invest 400M in Bulgarian Properties
According to Bloomberg Agency, a number of special British property funds intend to invest 400m in Bulgarian properties. In the past year alone the funds have accumulated the colossal amount of 2bn, or 2.9bn. Twenty new property funds issued shares on the London stock exchange in 2005. Experts see this development as a direct result of the already buoyant market, the property price boom and Bulgarias forthcoming accession to the European Union.

The market players seem to be buying land in bulk, whole buildings or entire project. Quite a few examples are already illustrating this trend. Having raised 140m, Equest Balkan Properties intends to reinvest it in industrial plots in Bulgaria and Romania. Black Sea Property Fund has invested 50m in holiday village projects in Pamporovo and on the coast. Louie Charles Sofia is amongst the most active investors, with 50m planned spending on properties in Sofia and the mountain resorts. Also ready to invest are European Convergence Property, Orchid Developments Group and Bulgarian Property Developments.
